Paris-Bombay

http://pretareporter.wordpress.com/2011/12/08/chanel-paris-bombay-2012-3-collection/

OMG.  Two of my favorite things combined: Chanel & India. :) I am in love, I want everything, even those gorgeous head pieces that may seem a bit too much. I think that they are what ties the outfit together. *sigh* I want. :)

I thought that everything from the collection was magnificent, even the decoration of the runway and the tables fit for a Maharajah.

Oh, Karl Lagerfeld, you are a genius.

I'm in love with all the white shimmery colors! Looks super elegant and ethereal.

I WANT those sandals. Definitely something I would wear, regardless of the seemingly overwhelming embellishment situation.

I love everything about this dress: the length, the color, the fabric! *swoon* One thing I'm not sure about is the dreadlocks. Meh.

This, minus the metallic leggins = LOVE. Gorgeous color, gorgeous everything.

I'd say this is totally wearable.

I absolutely adore these embellished cross-body purses.

You can find the video for the show here. I think it was positively stunning, gorgeous, dreamy and drool-worthy. And, you can see how to get the look here. Enjoy!

Polyvore

I'm addicted to Polyvore... I don't know how that happened. Ok, maybe I do, and I will try to attempt to explain. I had come across the website ages ago and it didn't make any sense. I didn't find any use for it... until now.

It all started with procrastination (as pretty much any moment of creative genius in my life, it comes when I have to study or do something else). I wanted an inspiration board. I have all these magazines lying around and I decided it was time to make use of the magazines, and put them to a good use. So, my necessity for an inspiration board came on.

I grabbed all my magazines I had available and started cutting them up to make collages. I put them on top of my desk (because my bulletin board is in storage at the moment) and so, it hit me, that I could also put some of the inspiration in my notebook, to take along with me on my trip. That way, whenever I needed some outfit inspiration, I could look at my inspiration in the notebook. I categorized it in "Sightseeing clothes", "Date Night", "Winter" etc. It is hard to find good outfits in the magazines because everything you see is so couture that you wouldn't be caught dead wearing that outside, even if Alexander McQueen himself rose from the dead just to give you that particular outfit that you saw on the magazine. Nothing seems wearable. So, it took me a while to find pieces that I would actually use and pieces that where already in my wardrobe and... along came Polyvore.

I started playing around with it, adding mainly stuff that resembles things I already own (and I stress resembles because I definitely do not own that gorgeous Versace dress) and I will take on for my trip and I came up with these:

My first attempt!
I think you can see the resemblance in that metal frame purse ;)

And so it was, that now I am coordinating what I will wear beforehand so I have an idea of what sort of outfits I can put together, and this helps me in visualizing it better. I am that organized.

Metal Frame Purses

Ok, I am obsessed with these purses and I wanna buy them all. I don't know how I got here, but it's a fact: I need MOAR. I have been looking at them on Etsy and I found tutorials for purchase but I didn't want to spend on that. I found free ones! =D

I'm pretty excited about these and hopefully I will be making one soon. :)

Christmas. :)

FINALLY! It seems like yesterday I was wishing for a fast forward button so I could finally get here, and somehow, it happened. :) I am so glad this year is finally coming to an end, and I hope that 2012 is filled with new beginnings and happy times.

This year has been super bitter sweet, and if it not were for the important people in my life, I don't know how I would have pulled through. As Mark Twain once said, "It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog". And this dog has a lot of fight left in her.

Happy December! Merry Christmas! And yayness!

Homemade Play-dough

http://www.kristanlynn.com/2011/09/best-play-dough-recipe.html

While I was buying the ingredients for this recipe, I decided to look for the ingredients for the homemade play dough recipe I found on the web. This girl Kristan has this fabulous play- dough recipe that I came across one day, and I thought it would be awesome to try with kids (and by "kids" I mean... me).

I followed the recipe and although it was sticky at first, after much playing with it, it turned out almost EXACTLY like the real deal. What I didn't like was the smell of it, so I was thinking that next time I could maybe add some scented oils or something and make it by the bucket. I have been playing with the darn thing all day and it's been quite therapeutic... add lavender scent and you've got AROMATHERAPY! :)

I'm pleased with my play-dough and everyone should try it. DO IT. :)
